Nebraska Unemployment Extension

Emergency Unemployment Compensation is a program that provides federally funded extended unemployment compensation benefits. The EUC Program has been extended and modified since its enactment on June 30, 2008. The most recent extension to the EUC Program became effective January 06, 2013, extending the program through December 28, 2013. These benefits change from one state to another as it is dependent on the unemployment rate of the state.

All claimants receiving EUC or filing an EUC claim are required to:

  1. Have an active registration and online resume in NEworks.
  2. Engage in an active work search for each week benefits are claimed and log the work search at Log Your Work Search
  3. Attend orientation and eligibility review sessions at an NDOL Career Center, if directed.

Extended Benefits (EB) – Program Ended

Under federal law, as of 2019, EUC benefits are no longer available.

Extensions for collecting UI payments are in effect only during periods of high unemployment and only if the state or federal government take specific action to provide extended benefits.
